Amy Hart, LMFT

Hello and welcome. I'm Amy Hart, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Do you ever feel like you can see the patterns that hold you back, but no matter how much insight you have, you still feel stuck in them? Maybe you understand where certain feelings or reactions come from, yet they continue to show up in ways that are painful or confusing. It can be frustrating when awareness alone doesn’t lead to the change you’re hoping for.
With over 15 years of experience as a therapist, I often work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and patterns of self-criticism and perfectionism. Many people come to this work looking for a deeper kind of healing, especially after trying other therapies that didn’t quite shift things in the way they had hoped. In our work together, we look at the emotions and inner experiences behind these struggles so you can develop greater clarity, self-compassion, and trust in yourself. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Level 2 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS).
As a therapist, I bring warmth, curiosity, and genuine care to the work we do together. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded, and I aim to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. I believe therapy works best when the relationship feels real and attuned—when you feel understood, respected, and supported as we explore what’s going on beneath the surface.
I believe healing happens in the context of a supportive, collaborative relationship where all parts of you are welcome. My practice is an affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals, and I am committed to being an ally to marginalized communities.

IFS Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based therapy that helps you better understand yourself by working with different "parts" of your mind. These parts may carry difficult emotions, like fear or sadness, or take on protective roles, like trying to keep you safe from emotional pain. Sometimes, these parts of you can be at odds with each other, making life feel challenging or overwhelming. In IFS, we explore these parts together with curiosity and compassion, allowing them to express themselves in a safe and non-judgmental space. At the same time, we help you access your core Self — the calm, compassionate part of you that is capable of leading the healing process.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapeutic method designed to help individuals process traumatic or otherwise negatively impactful experiences. It helps individuals process distressing memories and emotions by using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. During sessions, you’ll focus on specific memories while engaging in this dual stimulation, which can reduce the emotional intensity attached to those memories. Many clients find that EMDR allows them to transform negative beliefs about themselves and their experiences into more positive, empowering ones. You can expect to feel a sense of relief and clarity as you work through your feelings. The goal of EMDR is to help you regain a sense of safety and confidence in your life. If you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions, EMDR could be a valuable part of your healing journey.
